Conference Bus

 

From São Paulo: the bus will leave the University of São Paulo at 09:30 AM from the Institute of Physics,  Travessa R (the street that goes to IPEN). It will go through the Institute for Theoretical Physics (Instituto de Física Teórica – IFT), located nearby the Paulista Wall Street Hotel, at 10:15 AM. Next, it goes to the Guarulhos International Airport. The meeting point in the Airport will be the Dinners Club VIP Lounge (see information at  http://www.dinersclub.com/en/index.html and the map below) at 11:30 AM. Holders of the Dinners Club Credicard or the Platinum Mastercard can enter the Lounge with no cost.

From Rio de Janeiro: Because of different arrival schedules of participants from Rio, we arrange the following scheme for the conference buses.

1)       A conference bus at the Galeão International Airport, which leaves at 10:00 to Paraty.  After 8:00, there will be a guide near the exit gate of each terminal, with a placard, “ISMD06” who will inform you how to  take this bus.

2)       For those who already in Rio de Janeiro, there is a bus, leaving at 12:30 from the Othon Palace Hotel, Copacabana, which then stops at CBPF (Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas) at Rua Xavier Sigaud 150, Botafogo, leaving there at 13:00.

We call attention that these buses will not stop for lunch in the way to Paraty.

In case you have trouble on the day, don´t hesitate to call  9124 0366 (T. Kodama) or 8169 2898 (I. Bediaga). For those who wants to leave Rio on Sept.01 just after the NN06 Conference,  we suggest to share a van, that cost around 1000 Reals.

 

Regular Bus:

 

From São Paulo: For those not using the conference bus, Paraty can be reached by regular bus. Take the Airport Bus Service (see info at http://www.airportbusservice.com.br) from the airport to the Terminal Rodoviário do Tiete (Bus Station Tiete).  The departure times from the airport are: 05:45, 06:40, 07:50, 08:40, 09:30, 10:40, 11:30, 12:20, 13:20, 14:20, 15:10, 16:00, 16:50, 17:50, 18:50, 19:40, 20:30, 21:35, 22:15, 23:10, 00:05, 01:30, 03:00 and 04:30. It takes around 40 minutes to get to the bus station. The cost is R$24,00 (Brazilian currency).

 

Once you get in the Tiete Bus Station, you must look for the counter of the company called Reunidas Paulista. The departure times are: 08:00, 12:15, 16:00 (not available on Sundays) and 22:00. The cost is R$38,00. The trip takes around 6 hours.

 

From Rio de Janeiro: The regular buses from Rio-Paraty are available from the Rio Central Bus Station (Rodoviária Novo Rio) with the following time schedule (cost 44 Reals) :        06:00,    07:00,     09:00,    12:00,    14:00,    16:00,    19:30,    21:00

Ask for the ticket counter for Paraty and purchase first the ticket.

There is a shuttle bus from the Galeão Airport to the Bus Station by Viação Real, for every 30 minutes. This costs 5,5 Reals. Please don´t forget to change your money to Reals, since these buses do not accept foreign currencies.
