I
am working in the British Council in Athens, Greece and I am responsible
for the planning and co-ordination of all activities under
the sector 'Science and Society'.
Our main objective in this sector is to organise events/activities that
will make science simple for the wider public!
One of our projects for 2005-2006 will be activities under the 'World
Year of Physics'/'Einstein Year' umbrella and we are planning to organise
either on the 22nd of May or on 5th of June (both days is Sunday) a kind
of workshop, or demonstration, or hands-on activities/experiments mainly
for children (8-16) as well as their families on Physics (making them
familiar with complicated principles of Physics). It could be one morning
session of few hours or multiple sessions with short duration.
I am looking for a scientist/team (working in the communication of science)
that would be willing to travel in Greece by that time and organise something
of this type.
The British Council will provide tickets, accomodation and subsistence
for all guests.
If you are interested in coming to Greece to work on this project please
get in touch.
